How do I enroll my child in Goose Creek CISD? What to bring, how zones work and what about shots
The district also has an online registration option from the same page.
What the district asks you to bring
The district's enrollment page lists what a new student needs.
- Proof of the adult's relationship to the student. A birth certificate, court papers or a Child Protective Services order can show it. If the adult is not a parent, the school needs to know where the parents are.
- Proof of where the parent or guardian lives. A current lease, rental agreement, deed or a current utility bill for water, gas or electric counts. This proof is what entitles the student to enroll, because schools are assigned by the home address.
- A record of immunizations showing the child is current on all required shots.
- A withdrawal form or a report card from the previous school, with the school's name, address and phone number.
- A Social Security card is requested but not required.

Which school will my child attend
The district lists attendance zones in four groups: pre-K, elementary, junior school and high school. Each has its own map, under the question "What school will my child attend?" on the district's Attendance Zones page. Look up your address on the map for the grade you need. Since your address decides the school, check the map again after any move.
Moving a child to another school in the district
If you want your child to move from one GCCISD school to another, contact the Office of Student Services for the In-District Transfer Request form and return it there. The district says transfers are allowed for extreme, extenuating circumstances only, so do not count on one.
No permanent address
A family does not need a fixed address to enroll. The district says that if your housing is uncertain, you do not have a permanent address, or you are living at a temporary address, you can still enroll your child. Ask the school's attendance clerk or the district's liaison for help.
Shots and school
The district follows the Texas Department of State Health Services rules on immunizations, and students need to be as up to date as medically possible to attend class. The district's page links the Texas minimum vaccine requirements for pre-K and child care, and for grades K through 12, plus the Harris Health System's Troubleshooters immunization program, a list of local providers and the state health department site. Ask your child's doctor which shots are due.
Be accurate on the forms
The district warns that giving false information on an enrollment form is a crime. Under the Texas Education Code and Penal Code it can be a Class C misdemeanor with a fine of up to $500, and a family can also be charged tuition or the cost the district budgets per student. Use your real address and papers.

A qué escuela irá mi hijo
