Goose Creek CISD's 2026 Report Card: A B Overall, Campus by Campus
A district letter grade is only the starting point; campus-level results show how uneven the picture can be.

Goose Creek CISD earned an overall B for 2026, with a score of 80. The year before, the district earned a C with a score of 78, according to the Texas Education Agency (TEA) 2026 ratings file. TEA released the 2026 ratings on August 14, 2026. Campus grades ranged from A to F, so the letter at the top hides a wide spread. Below is every Goose Creek CISD campus in the 2026 state file, with its score and enrollment.
The short version
- Goose Creek CISD earned a B (score 80) for 2026, up from a C (score 78) in 2025.
- TEA counted 23,308 students in the district in 2026. The 2025 sheet showed 23,943.
- Five campuses earned an A: Sterling High, Goose Creek Memorial, Stuart Career Tech, Impact Early College and Hyland Empower Academy.
- Six campuses earned a D and one earned an F in 2026.
- Three small campuses carry a Not Rated label.
Find your child's campus
Start with the zone, then the score. The district's attendance zone page is at https://www.gccisd.net/about-us/attendance-zones, and its "What school will my child attend?" lookup is at https://www.infofinderi.com/ifi/?cid=GCCI1W6KIJ41G. Registration is at https://www.gccisd.net/campus-life/register-online. If you want a different campus, the district has a student transfer request page (https://www.gccisd.net/campus-life/student-services-home/student-transfer-request) and an open enrollment page (https://www.gccisd.net/campus-life/open-enrollment). Each campus's multi-year ratings are on the state's TXschools.gov site (https://txschools.gov/) and in the TEA file linked below.
How to read the numbers
TEA gives each campus a score and a letter that goes with it. A grade is one measure on one set of tests and indicators, and families know things a letter cannot show. The file also lists enrollment, which helps show how many students each grade touches. This story uses the letter and score exactly as listed in the 2026 statewide ratings file and assigns no blame.
The campuses below are Goose Creek CISD campuses only. The state file does not map each attendance zone to Baytown city limits. Some zones may reach beyond the city, and some Baytown students attend other districts, which this story does not cover.
High schools and specialty campuses
Most of the district's high school campuses earned an A or a B. - Impact Early College High School: A (96), 414 students - Hyland Empower Academy: A (93), 105 students - Goose Creek Memorial: A (92), 2,110 students - Stuart Career Tech High School: A (92), 612 students - Sterling High School: A (90), 2,174 students - Lee High School: B (88), 1,742 students - GCCISD Virtual Academy: C (78), 75 students
Point Alternative Center (88 students), High Point School (14 students) and Excel Academy Murworth (3 students) were Not Rated.
Junior highs
Junior high grades were more mixed. - Baytown Junior High: B (80), 671 students - Cedar Bayou Junior High: C (76), 950 students - Gentry Junior High: C (75), 913 students - Horace Mann Junior High: C (74), 955 students - E F Green Junior School: C (74), 1,040 students - Highlands Junior High: D (69), 748 students
Elementary schools and early learning
The elementary list shows the widest spread, from a B (84) to an F (59). - B: Banuelos Elementary (84, 729 students), Crockett Elementary (81, 662), Victoria Walker Elementary (80, 641), Sheila Liles Early Learning Academy (80, 330) - C: Alamo (77, 706), Travis (77, 689), Pumphrey (75, 659), Bowie (74, 706), San Jacinto (73, 673), Clark (72, 768), Stephen F Austin (70, 763) - D: Carver (68, 684), Highlands Elementary (68, 591), Hopper Primary (68, 182), Harlem (66, 742), De Zavala (66, 491) - F: Ashbel Smith Elementary (59), 678 students
The list holds 33 campuses: 5 with an A, 6 with a B, 12 with a C, 6 with a D, 1 with an F and 3 not rated.
Where the district rose
The clear rise is at the district level, from C (78) in 2025 to B (80) in 2026. Which individual campuses moved up or down is a question for each campus's multi-year ratings on TXschools.gov. A D at 69 and an F at 59 are far apart, so read the score, not only the letter. If your child attends Ashbel Smith, ask the principal and the district what the plan is for the year ahead.
Enrollment and history behind the grades
TEA counted 23,308 students in the district in 2026, which is 635 fewer than the 23,943 on the 2025 sheet. The file does not say why.
The district has a long record. Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District took its current shape in 1954, when the old Goose Creek ISD merged with Cedar Bayou ISD. Goose Creek Memorial, the district's newest comprehensive high school, opened in 2008 after a 2005 bond election. A Texas Historical Commission marker also notes the Lee High School and Goose Creek ISD story from 1919.
What this means for you
Look up your child's campus, then look at its score, not only the letter. Ask the school what it is changing, and ask about programs a letter does not capture, such as the early college and career tech tracks at the high schools. A school your family knows and trusts is worth more than one number.
