Baytown Little Theater

A working little theater on Texas Avenue, which is rarer than it should be. Sixty friends formed it at Goose Creek Country Club in May 1961; the first show, Biography, ran in a rented grocery on Bayway for 527 people. They bought the building the next summer and turned it into a theater-in-the-round. It is still all-volunteer, still compared (locally, with feeling) to Houston houses it is not trying to be.

2026–27 season includes One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, It’s a Wonderful Life as a radio play, Almost, Maine, Earnest, Once Upon a Mattress, Clue. Tickets $20, summer musical $25, season $105. Box office is staffed on performance days only — Fridays and Saturdays 5–8, matinees 1–2:30. Buy online from the Monday two weeks before opening, or leave a message at (281) 424-7617. Dinner at Wazabi or Rooster’s before curtain.
