Disc golf in Baytown: three free courses, the medallion challenge and the October festival
Jenkins Park Disc Golf Course is the wooded one. The tourism office says it rewards accuracy, good shot placement and creative choices of line, which is a polite way of saying the trees are in play. Jenkins Park is also where the Cary Bayou Trail starts, so you can walk before or after your round. See named trails and mileage for the trail.
The three courses
Tabbs Bay Disc Golf Course is the one with the most variety. Visit Baytown describes it as having more than one layout, from beginner-friendly play up to championship level, so it fits both a first round and a tournament.
Duke Hill Disc Golf Course mixes open holes with technical ones. Visit Baytown calls it welcoming, and it works for new players and for people who have played for years.
The Disc Golf Challenge
Visit Baytown runs a Disc Golf Challenge. You play all three Baytown courses, and you earn an exclusive Visit Baytown Disc Golf Medallion. Along the way you can complete bonus photo challenges for a chance at more Visit Baytown swag. The tourism office has a challenge guide to download, and you check off your rounds as you go.
The Baytown Disc Golf Festival
The Baytown Disc Golf Festival, presented by Lyte Fiber, is Saturday and Sunday, October 17 and 18, 2026. Visit Baytown says it is a PDGA B-Tier event with three rounds of play, held at Jenkins Park and the Tabbs Bay Disc Golf Course.
The prizes it lists are $1,000 in added pro cash, $3,500 in added merchandise, a guaranteed $1,500 ace pot, and $50 cash prizes for the closest throw to the pin on every hole during Saturday's rounds. After play there is a tournament party at the Hyatt with food, drinks, live music and the B3 Putter Course. If you are not competing, expect more people and slower play at both courses that weekend.
Courses beyond Baytown
Baytown calls itself a good base for a disc golf weekend. It has three courses of its own and many more a short drive away, and the tourism office keeps a Google map for trip planning. The city has hotels to stay in; see choosing a hotel.
Before you go
- Bring more than one disc, water and bug spray.
